At Woven Threads by shining a light on deeply personal stories of struggle and pain, we believe that we open hearts to compassion, resilience, action and hope. We are, therefore, most excited to have the opportunity to work with LifeLine Australia and NITV in producing an Indigenous series.

 

Tony Briggs is a Yorta Yorta/Wurundjeri (Woiwurrung) theatre and film practitioner (Actor, Writer and Producer) best known for creating the stage play, The Sapphires, will direct the series. We, at Woven Threads, are thrilled to have Tony collaborating with us on this new project.

 

Once again, we will be working with Keenan Mundine, who featured in Woven Threads- Stories from Within (Mental Health series), and Carly Stanley, the co-founders of Deadly Connections. Deadly Connections is an Aboriginal Community-led, not-for-profit organization working to break the cycle of poverty, disadvantage and trauma within Indigenous communities.

 

With so many powerful stories currently being shared in this space, we hope to contribute to the conversation by encouraging dialogue and, ultimately, change.
